CARIFOS TO KICK START LAGOS' MODO HEIGHT HOUSING PROJECT.

After sorting out all issues surrounding one of the outstanding but upcoming housing projects in Lagos State, the coast is now clear for the take off of the development, as indication emerged last week that the developer may soon move its contractors to site to deliver  ‘Modo Heights’ estate.
The developer, Carifos Nigeria Limited, had some months ago struck a partnership deal with both the Lagos State Government and Agboyi/Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) to further increase the housing stocks, by building highrise structures, to be sited within the neighborhood of Ajelogo-Akanimodo, Mile 12, along Ikorodu road. It is coming under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement.

While First and Sterling Banks had indicated interest to finance the project, FBN Mortgages will provide mortgage for subscribers.
Other professionals on board for the project are the architectural firm, Objects Designs Limited, project managers, Ethics and Aesthetics Limited, quantity surveyors, Nwike Mbah and Partners and structural engineers, Tis-Buk Realty Limited.
Among amenities for the estate is a 24 hours electricity through alternative power supply, broadband wireless service, escalators and elevators and 24 hours security and surveillance, is expected to be completed within 24 months.  Also there will be provision of swimming pool,
gymnasium, Lawn tennis court
and basketball court.
Others are well manned entrance and exit gate, CCTV cameras, 24hours reticulated and treated water, refill plant for cooking gas, recreational area, centrally treated sewage among others.
Already, the project had started as all designs have been completed and approvals obtained for commencement (in principle) from Lagos State government. Also, preliminary engineering works on the site including subsoil investigation reports and topographical surveys have been conducted.
In addition, leveling, grading and backfilling of the site has commenced .
Speaking on the estate, the Chief Executive Officer of Carifos, Mr. Popo Kadiku, said the project is unique in the sense that subscribers would be privileged to live and trade at the same time in an estate that has a Lagos State Government global Certificate of Occupancy.
